President George Zhao elected to GALA's Board of Directors

November 1, 2016, Toronto – Boffin, the Asian language service provider, is pleased to announce that Co-founder and President George Zhao will serve on GALA's seven-member Board of Directors for the 2017-2018 term. GALA, or the Globalization and Localization Association, is the world's leading trade association for the language industry. As a Board member, Mr. Zhao will work for the benefit of all GALA members, as well as for the language industry overall.

"It is an honor to be recognized and called upon to support GALA's membership and our industry in this way," says Zhao. "I look forward to giving of my time and talents to help shape the overall strategic direction of GALA over the next several years." During his tenure, Mr. Zhao will devote time as required for in-person and monthly online Board meetings, regular member calls, as well as to lead on various association projects.

Elected by GALA member companies, Zhao joins three other GALA members new to the Board. "The caliber of candidates who run for the Board each year is truly striking and indicative of the committed individuals who are important drivers in the language industry worldwide," says Véronique Özkaya, Chair of the Board. "We are enthusiastic about the perspectives that the new Board members will bring to GALA's leadership."
